Definition |
A chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system characterized by focal neurologic dysfunction separated both in time and space, and occurring in relapsing and remitting form, Or in a progressive form onset, or getting progressive form from onset, or getting progressive in the later stages of the disease. Prognosis |
Highly variable with 70% of patients leading active useful lives with blurred remissions. In 90% early phase is relapsing and remitting, but most develop progression after 6-10 years. In about 10%, may disable a patient in early adulthood and could cause death within sensory symptoms or optic neuritis at onset. |

General Measures |
Patients should rest during acute relapses of the disease.Physical therapies serve as important ancillary treatment.Generally, excessive fatigue should be avoided. |
